Phil Buckley "Aces"

Phil Buckely is a junior at Radnor High School. He’s a starting right prop with tons of muscular amazingness. Many of the coaches see Phil’s tremendous potential and hope he will become the “superstar” of the team With this new experience Phil has gained many new friendships from the sport of rugby and hopes to play all the way through college. Joey Rufo

Joey is a senior at Radnor High School and is currently going to be in his second year of rugby.  Last year Joey played outside center and enjoyed it.  This year Joey intends to pick up where he left off and be a key asset to the team and help them through playoffs.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Steve Gallo  "Jesse, Wack Pack Member #2, A-Team - Face"

Steve Gallo has played rugby for three years and is going to be on his fourth.  Steves knowledge of the game and consistent determination has earned him a place in running for captain.  Steve is the starting scrum half yet again this year and hopes to play through college. Gallo enjoys long walks on the beach and chillin' with his "peeps".
  
 
 
 
 Kyle King "Colorado King"

Kyle is a senior at Radnor High School and is currently going into his 3rd year of rugby.  Kyle has become an exceptional flanker and has helped troop win many games.  Besides flanking kyle also is a jumper and forces the ball to our side.  Aside from the youth team kyle intertwines himself in the mens club and is an all around respected player.
 
 
                        
  
 
 
 
Dave Harman "Hansol"

Dave is a varsity running back for the Radnor Football Team.  He also played baseball, basketball and track during his freshman and sophmore years. This is his first year rugby player, playing fullback while being a junior at Radnor High School. He hopes to eventually play football in college on a D-I or DII level. In his off time he lift weights, play pickup football and basketball, and watch tv, and movies. His role model and inspiration in life has always been his dad and Barry Sanders, of the Detroit Lions. His favorite college football player is Steve Slaton, running back at West Virginia. He is also a huge Denver Broncos fan.
 
Pat Hayes "Lucky & The IncredibleHulk"

This is Pat's 3rd year in rugby. Before this point he has been wrestling since 2nd grade. He has two brothers and six sisters(some through marriage). In his free time likes to play the drums and hang out with his friends.  Just don't make Pat angry....you won't like him when he's angry.
 
  
 
 
 
 
 
John Lim "John John"

John Lim is a sophomore at Radnor High School and is playing hooker this year.  This will be john's 2nd year at hooker and hopes to grow even better.  John caught on quick and hopes he can grow to be an even better player this year.
 
  
 
 
 
Evan Kaufman - "Captain Hollywood & William S. Preston"

Evan has played Rugby for three years, and is currently a junior at Radnor High. He can play almost any position on the pitch and was voted captain by his teammates. He is ambitious about continuing his career in college and loves to work hard. He also plays Football, Basketball, Ski’s, and Weight lifts on a regular basis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jordan Kingston


This is Jordan's first year playing rugby.He is currently a junior at radnor high school. He currently plays flanker and prop and hopes to help lead the team to an undefeated season. He plans to play again as a senior and maybe in college. Jordan's hobbies include football, basketball, and rugby.

 

 

 

 
 
 
Albert Metz " O'Doyle, Wack Pack Member #1, A-Team - Hannibal"

Albert is a sophomore at Radnor High School and is in his second year of Rugby. His first year he played as a prop, and now has moved to second row. Maybe next year coach will realize what a threat he could be on the back line. He is looking forward to helping the team be succesful in an undefeated season and even more sucessful in the upcoming playoffs. In his free time he likes to hang out with the Wack Pack, Coach Eben, and Chris Guiliano.
 
 
 
 
Ian Poake  "Moose"

Ian "Moose" Poake began his rugby career this year.  Already in his rookie season, he has begun to pick up the game and loves it.  "I love this game.  Rugby is the best sport ever!" he said in an interview last thursday after the sloppy but solide 24 - 7 victory over Middletown.  Moose plans to attend college and study theatre and acting, and would most definitely consider intramural or even inter-collegiate rugby.  Poake's words to live by:  "Soccer is a gentleman's game for hooligans.  Rugby is a hooligan's game for gentleman."
 
 
 
 
  
Phil Schweiger   "The Jew from Peru" 

This is Phil’s first year playing the sport of Rugby but enjoys it a lot because of its similarities to football and soccer. He’s played soccer since he was little and now plays golf and basketball. Phil went to school at Shipley since the first grade and went to Radnor freshman year. He also likes to snowboard and surf even though he’s only surfed twice and he sucks. Phil is also Jewish and Peruvian which is believed to be a hard find and he thinks everyone he knows will agree; thus having a nickname some call him, the Jew from Peru . Phil Schweiger looks forward to improving his skills and playing Rugby through High School.
 
 
 
 
Ethan Yudis  "Uterus & Theodore Logan"

Ethan has played Rugby for three years, and is currently a junior at Radnor High. He enjoys playing wing for troop and will continue to play for his senior year. He plays football for Radnor and wants to continue playing in college. He also weight trains and loves to be active.

Cris Mathew  "Trundler & Chocolate Thunder"
Head Coach

Coach Cris has played for seven years starting with Troop Youth during his senior year at Radnor High School.  Under the coaching of Terry Wendelken, Cris later went to Ursinus College where he started all four years as a Hooker.  As a senior, he helped lead a young undefeated and unscored upon Ursinus Bearcox squad to the EPRU championships.  His senior year, he was awarded the Most Oustanding Forward Award.  During the fall, he returned to Ursinus as the Head Forwards Coach and helped take the squad to the EPRU semi-finals.  Currently he plays for Second City Troop Men's Club and is the Head Coach for Troop Youth.  Besides rugby, he spends the majority of his time as a student in Drexel's Medical Science Program, and hopes one day to be a Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon.
 
 
 
  
 
Dave Codell "French Lick & Croc"
Backs Coach

Coach Dave began his career with the Troop as a youth member in 1998 under the coaching of Terry Wendelken. After high school he went to Drew University where he played fly-half and was the team captain for three years. After playing summer 7s with the Troop in 2006 coach Dave decided to join the team full time and help coach the youth. Coach Dave currently plays in the backline backing up the wing and scrum-half positions as well as the occasional match in the centers. Coach Dave makes his biggest contribution to the club off of the field where he serves as the team laundry specialist making sure that the troop always looks sharp in their light blue uniforms. When asked about Coach Dave, men's team coach Struan Murray remarked "You have got to be kidding me!! Codell is a retard! He JUDASED ME!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Eben Healy "Taco Hell & Albert's Best Friend Forever"
Forwards Coach

Coach Eben started playing rugby at Haverford College, where he was a starting loose forward. After graduation, he played sevens with the men’s club and then joined full-time. He currently backs up the loose forwards on the men’s team and provides the team with some high quality H2O during important matches. In his free time he likes to do stuff.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Hutch Armstrong "Ross Hutchinson Aries Armstrong III Jr."
Strength and Conditioning Coach

Coach Hutch started playing rugby for Second City Troop Men's Club a year ago and has proved to be a valuable asset to the club. He played football and Lacrosse and Danbury High School in Connecticut and came to Philadelphia for Medical School. Although this is his first year coaching, his prior experiences in coaching football and lacrosse have allowed him to engage the players and prepare them for rugby. Besides rugby, he spends the majority of his time studying at Drexel Hahnemann, and hopes one day to be a physician for the Armed Services.
